Transportation Technology

What is it? Cars, boats, airplanes…Transportation Technology courses provide you with opportunities to understand transportation systems from the perspective of either the consumer or the service provider. The range of courses enables students to study both vehicle ownership and vehicle maintenance, and to develop skills and prepare for careers in the servicing and repair of vehicles, aircraft, and/or watercraft.

Why would I take it? Almost everyone will either drive an automobile or ride in a boat or plane at some time in their life so any knowledge on how vehicles work is helpful. Even if it’s just so that when you take your car in for repair, you know what the Service Department is talking about, or the simple maintenance behind your car. Students who are mechanically inclined might decide that this is an area for a career. This course is also recommended for any students going into aviation to be introduced to how an engine works.
