SafetyNET TXJ Manicures

Description

TXJ3E1 - The student will be able to describe the proper technique for manicure procedures. This assignment is considered a medium risk safety concern, to be taught over 5-10 periods. We reference the Milady Standard Cosmetology textbook. Activity is done in groups of two students. Students will have a basic understanding of manicure procedures, nail art design, arm and hand massage techniques, polish application. We also incorporate a paraffin hand treatment. Lesson will guide students through the manicure service from start to finish and will include safety and sterilization guidelines. Requires manicure table, manicure implements, products and cosmetics. Review methods for holding implements. Demonstrate proper handling of equipment. Complete all with proper safety and sanitation practices.
