SafetyNET TXJ Hair Removal - Waxing
Description
TXJ3E1 - The student will be able to describe the proper method for facial and body waxing. This assignment is considered a medium risk safety concern, to be taught over 4-5 periods. Lesson will walk the student through the waxing service from start to finish and will include safety and sterilization guidelines. We reference the Milady Standard Cosmetology textbook. Activity is done in groups of two or three students with wax, wax heater, disposable sticks, waxing products, and facial bed. Lessons to be taught prior to waxing: Skin and hair structure and hair growth, overview of variety types of hair removal. Review methods for holding implements, Demonstrate proper handling of equipment, Complete all with proper safety and sanitation practices.Reference the Milady Waxing DVD.
