SafetyNET TMJ Metal Volleyball Judges Stand
Description
TMJ3M/4M - The task was to design and fabricate a volley ball judges stand. The stand was to be made from tubular steel, light weight, easily accessible, stable, able to support 250 lbs, and be able to be easily folded and stored. Students create a full-scale volleyball judges stand prototype, and then fabricate it from tubular steel using traditional material conversions. It utilizes MIG welding, grinding / cutting, and manual metal bending techniques. This project is usually done in groups of 4 students over 7 periods. Problem-solving, hands-on skills development for fabrication, and safety training are the major focus.
