SafetyNET TIJ LED Electronic Poster

Description

TIJ students construct and design a poster using a 9 volt battery, LED’s which also promotes electronics and communications technology. This project is done over 10, 70 minute periods. They individually design an electronic poster, construct a wooden frame and connect 3 LED’s in a parallel fashion. This project can be completed with a class size anywhere from 10 – 30 students. The individual work will eventually allow students to assist each other. This incorporates some photography, Photoshop, printing, incorporation of themselves into the image in some way, and generally introduces them to circuit building for electronics as well. In the broad spectrum of looking at this project the goal is to: Introduce and practice the design process, Problem solving – with electronic circuit performance issues, etc., Practice measurement and layout skills, Intro to tool use and building process, Follow safe practices and procedures when using materials, tools, and equipment.
