SafetyNET TCJ Concrete Brick Forming
Description
TCJ3M - Using form work principals, students create a standard sized brick with a personal design. Duration of extended project is around 10 - 70 minute periods. Usually 22 students normally per class - plan for project purchasing budgeting two - three classes per semester. Learning goals: Safety awareness of cement powder. Safety during construction of nails and hammers. Safe "green" clean up of products used. Safe cutting using utility knife on 12 mm styrofoam sheets. Safe removal of concrete laden wood sheets. Using protective clothing, gear and equipment properly eg. dust mask, safety glasses. Needs particulate breathing masks, work gloves, water, back saw, pliers, and interim project storage for each student.
