ToolSafe Resource Video’s Have CC Capability

Do you have students with hearing difficulties? ELL’s? The OCTE toolSafe video resources have the ability to be viewed with closed captioning (CC), and in various languages. The following is a “how to” enable the captioning:

Step 1: Select the video you wish to view and open it. Look for the CC icon

Step 3: This will bring up a dialog box giving the option of enabling CC

and changing the language if desired. Select subtitles/CC (1)

Select English (auto-generated)

This will turn on the captioning. Since this is an auto-generated caption (taken from the spoken words), it is advisable to review the video prior to providing it to the student.

Changing languages

Step 1: Open the dialog box as above. Click on auto translate

This will bring up the available language options

Select the language you desire
