OCTE AGM, Elections and Proposed Constitution Change

On behalf of your OCTE Executive, we are pleased to share details with our OCTE membership regarding our upcoming Annual General Meeting.  Our AGM will take place Friday May 6th from 3:15pm - 4:30pm during our board leads’ conference. Capacity for a conference had to be limited to 100 this year due to the current climate. The AGM will be held virtually for our OCTE teacher members. The links for the virtual meeting will be shared closer to the AGM.

OCTE Executive Elections

This year we have a number of OCTE Executive positions open for our upcoming elections, including: Chair, Vice-Chair of Elementary Education, Vice-Chair of Secondary Education, Vice-Chair of Communications, Secretary and French Lead.  For more information about these positions and responsibilities, please refer to our governance.

To nominate an outstanding colleague for one of these positions, please complete this nomination form by Friday May 6th at 8:00am.  Speeches will take place that day at 10:00am (virtual meeting link will be shared in advance).

Constitution and By-Laws

As part of the AGM, we will review and vote on proposed changes to our Constitution and By-Laws.  At this time we have one proposed change regarding our Board of Directors, as per below:

“Article 3.4.1. OCTE Executive will be managed by the BOD.”  Proposed change to this article is: “The BOD will provide an oversight role for the OCTE Executive”.

Please direct any questions to Christine German at cgerman@octe.ca.  We look forward to continuing to support Technological Education in Ontario with our new Executive team!
