The OCTE 2016 OCTE Conference was a great success with the release of new ISSLP toolSAFE resources, French versioning of the SAFEdocs to SÉCURIdocs, the SafetyNET to SécuriNET French versioning. There were Emphasis Doc releases and many other initiatives completed as part of a long-term professional development plan led by amazing committees.
The new awareness-building with teachers and boards across the province is the direct result of assertive and proactive lobbying done by OCTE Executive members starting the important conversations that have to happen between stakeholders for the benefit of student success and well-being.
Many boards opted to move to affiliate membership for the benefits of using these resources well and having input on important issues in technological education. The individual member networking was amazing, and the vendors that participated in the trade show were fantastic. They shared resources and their unique know-how with their products and services with attendees, and the professional exchange that happened was great. Their companies and organizations are represented in this slideshow below.
There’s a lot of new faces in the executive and committees, and lots of returning colleagues who remain committed to excellence in technological education. Please see the executive pages for updates.
We’d like to say special thanks to our webmaster Yolanda Navas who has worked closely with the conference committee for many years, advancing the layout and site management, and delivering the online presence promoting the organization, conference, and membership connection with the committee teams.
